  With no fault of the driver a car spins out of control, hits the divider or curb, drags along the ground or in the air before landing with a thud, trapping the driver and occupants, damaging the material in its path and last but not least, leaving a few dead.  Here is a video of such an accident that happened some time back in Russia, One of the reasons for such a gruesome fatal car accidents is car tire burst, which occurs when the car tire pressure is low or very high.
