Full form of GST A minister derided for not knowing it It is reported that a minister in the Chief Minister Yogi Adithyanath's ministry in UP, Minister Ramapathy Sastri could not elaborate the abbreviation GST. Kindly give the minister the benefit of doubt. He fumbled alright but it does not mean it did not know it. Most of the ministers, across States, are from rural areas. Many of them are at loss of words, especially when speaking to the media. Even some well bred, educated people are affected by speech anxiety and social phobia. If one could go back and collect similar such instances it would fill a book.

Some opposition parties have extended their supported, more out of convenience than conviction, to the scheme.
