Japan Earthquake:
An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 on the scale of Richter jolted the western coast of Japan , reported the Geological Survey United States ( https://earthquake.usgs.gov ), although, so far, been no reports any casualties or damage.
The quake occurred at 16.37 GMT 281 kilometers southeast of the city of Kamaishi (prefecture of Iwate ), in the northeast of the country with a hypo center 10 kilometers below the earth 's surface, the USGS said, without providing further details.
The earthquake occurred more than 320 kilometers east of Fukushima city , which in 2011 suffered a serious nuclear accident triggered by the earthquake and tsunami of March 11 of that year. That disaster was the worst nuclear accident in history alongside Chernobyl ( Ukraine ) 1986.
NewZealand Earthquake:
New Zealand hit by strong 6.1 magnitude earthquake just hours after Mexico City disaster. The United States Geological Survey reported the submarine earthquake, whose epicenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers west of Auckland; so far there is no damage report.
The quake, at a shallow depth of 10 km (6 miles), was recorded 211 km (140 miles) west of the sub-Antarctic Auckland Island, off New Zealand's South Island, the USGS said.
There were no tsunami warnings issued immediately after the quake.
