Fidget Spinner:


Fidget Spinner is a toy like gadget looking like a fan blade which you hold at the center between your thumb and index finger. Giving a push or even twisting your wrist will rotate the blades quite fast which is due to the bearings placed inside and proper balancing of the peripheral weight.

Though it looks like a kids toy, it is touted as a health gadget that helps in focusing attention, reduce stress, autism, ADHD etc. Doctors are divided in their opinion on the benefits of fidgeting with the gadget. Some are even advising against it. But many are against it only for using for extended period.
Fidget spinners are hugely popular with kids.In schools teachers do not encourage children using it in class rooms because it is a distraction. Some schools have banned it.  But all this, it appears, is to discourage children from playing with it continuously, and with later high tech versions.

Fidget spinners became popular in the year beginning and hit the peak in May, 2017. They come in various colors, shapes and material ( metal and plastic). They also come with LED and Bluetooth speakers. The Russian jewelry firm, Caviar, sells the most expensive spinner made of gold.

In India it is available on line at a reasonable price. Its popularity may again go up as one of the fidgeting device, there are many such. The various designs with superb quality from more sources is also an indicator of this trend.
