Heart Attack in Women and Modifiable Risk Factors

Trump's Jerusalem Decision

Mr Trump to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital:

The United States under Mr Trump, after recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, is to announce the shifting of US embassy to Jerusalem on 6th afternoon.

This has evoked sharp criticism from all quarters, including the Pope, except its close allies.

In the US it is seen as, while fulfilling an election promise, a move to shore up the falling popularity of the Trump administration.

Media and others are seeing it as a set back to the peace process in the Middle East between Israel and Palestinians, which has been going on for more than 50 years since the last war in 1967. With both sides not ready to compromise, a peaceful solution was always in doubt.

With total Jerusalem under occupation of Israel after the 1967 war, in 1980 the Israel Knesset passed the Jerusalem law making Jerusalem the capital of Israel. But the United Nations Security Council declared it as "null & void" with US abstaining.

In 1995, the US Congress passed a law requiring the US embassy to be shifted from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, but with a proviso to waive it every six months. Since then, every US President has waived the implementation of the law twice a year.

This law is suggestive of the premeditated move of the US, and prophetic of what will happen in the future. So, Mr Trump has only voiced what was already decided; of US maneuver to acknowledge Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. How it will cope with the resistance and violence world wide, and the United Nations is to be seen.
