Health checkup for Women

Every healthy women require regular preventive checkups to ascertain that there is no lurking danger beneath the normal look. It can help find problems early, and can also help find problems before they start, when the chances for treatment and cure are better. Cat ch it early

Early deduction means reduced risk of getting sick, treatment for potentially life-threatening health conditions or diseases early, and less complications.

How regular is regular enough for a health checkup? Experts say, in the age group 30-40, healthy individuals should get checkup every 2 years. Some specific tests are  recommended for women in their 40s, and repeated every 1-2 years, and some tests once they turn 50. 1. Dental Checkup



Good dental health is important and all adult women need dental checkups at least once a year. Regular dental checkups like cleaning and examining the teeth, along with X-rays, can spot early signs of decay and any other problems.

Latest developments in materials and techniques have made dentists more successful than ever before at repairing, replacing and preserving the teeth.

Dentists can also help catch early signs of cancer during routine dental exams. Scientists have discovered a gum disease, which is usually caused by poor oral hygiene, and pancreatic cancer.

2. Mammogram



A mammogram is a test which screens for breast cancer. It is recommended that all women aged above 45 should start annual screening.

If there is a family history of the disease, the screening must be started earlier after consultation. More frequent screening might do more harm than good. 

3. Pap Test



Is a test for Cervical cancer screening and a similar swab that tests for human pappilomavirus, or HPV.

Both tests explore changes in cells that could indicate a need for further testing.  If it is cervical cancer, you can catch it early.

Women between ages 21 to 65 must check every 3 to 5 years.

Thyroid Test



Thyroid tests are carried out by drawing blood samples from patients to measure how well your thyroid gland is working.

The level of hormones produced are reflected in the physical and behavioral aspects of women, which is easily overlooked.
 
The tests help a qualified doctor to pinpoint the problem and prescribe drugs to correct the deficiency.
